This week I am on part 2 of the Mobile Brigada Review. You can find part 1 here. On this review I will go over a few lists and some good synergies with other soldiers.

It has been a while since I last posted a troop review. Life has been pretty busy, but I am back at it and should be able to continue posting these regularly.

Synergies

Just Try and Hack Me

The Tinbot Deflector is a great tool and at LVL 2 which the 37 point .5 SWC profile it imposes a -6 to hit mod to any Hacking attempt at the whole fireteam. That is a huge negative modifier especially since HI troops are pretty vulnerable to hacking. If you know your enemy will have multiple hackers and you are taking a link of these guys be sure to add in the Tinbot. If you pair that with a hacker of your own. Any time he is the target of a hacking attack the opponent takes a -6 modifier.

Hide the Lieutenant

This is a very common strategy with many options from many different factions, but in this particular case the Mobile brigada has two identical profiles where either one could be the Lieutenant. This shell game can be played within a fireteam or by substituting Aguaciles or other troops that you opponent would know or assume could be your LT.

Dodge or Burn

This is a fun mind game to play. To play it you must make sure that your opponent is aware of your light flame thrower and aware of the danger it poses to any model. Talk up the flamer and into a good position and make your opponent think your going to flame him. If he declares dodge as his ARO then you are free to move again or take an objective or shoot, but if he declares shoot then he risks taking a direct hit with your flame thrower. The key to playing mind games like this with your Opponent is making them agonize over the decision. Present them with two bad choices. This works especially well against hackers. Make them decide against declaring a Hacking ARO because they do not want to burn to death, but then shoot them instead with your superior chances to hit you are more likely to cause a wound than them passing a simple PH roll to avoid burning.

Lists

The purpose of this list is to be functional and also play a shell game of hide the lieutenant. The Moderators can easily be exchanged for Agauciles to the same effect, but they cost 1 more point per unit, but players familiar with Nomads will see right through the Moderators because the moderator LT costs 2 SWC to field. Later in the game you can play aggressive with your LT and use his free LT order. These troops are sturdy and meant to be played in the face of your opponent.

I did this next list as a limited insertion list because it is far more common for players to take a link team of the Mobile Brigada when playing a limited insertion game. The thinking behind this list is to take the Tinbot Mobile Brigada to protect the whole team from Hacking. The team is light on specialists, but the Aguacil and the Tomcat can easily be switched over to an Engineer or Forward observer as you desire. The thinking behind the Jaguar is to use him to play some Smoke Shenanigans with the Intruder sniper. It is a very sturdy list that requires the player to take out the enemy before focusing on objectives. It is more suited for games like firefight or Biotechvore. In other words missions where eliminating enemy troopers is the focus.

 Conclusion

The Mobile Brigada is a very solid HI troop. A fireteam of them would be brutal, but requires players to get creative on building a competitive list in anything other than Limited Insertion games. Going back to what I said in my original review the rifle and Multi Rifle loadouts will be far more common.

The key to victory is knowing your own troops and those of your enemy. Learn what you can of your opponents troops to better prepare yourself to defeat them. Get out there, try new strategies and most importantly have fun playing the game. Be sure to check out my Patreon page for cool rewards. You can also find me on YouTube here.
