Antenna Field: JSA V US Ariadna

I played my game against Cody. It did not go well for me, but I am attempting to play JSA the same way I would with my Haqqislam Bahram and it just doesn’t seem to be working. As always the game is a blast to play and I learn so much with each game. My advice for anyone loosing as horribly as I just lost this match is to be a good sport and think about the changes that you could have made that could potentially have turned the tide of battle. Unfortunately for me my first mistake was a poorly constructed list.

Round 1:

Foxtrot FO approaches the left antenna and secures it with a mine. Killer hacker ninja reveals and shoots and misses. Marauder sniper fires and kills him in one order. The rest of his orders were spent maneuvering around the token I left of the other Ninja.

Yojimbo rushes in and takes a mine and a rifle blast to the face and fails all corresponding armor rolls. I approached the antenna in my deployment zone with my Weibing and secure it. I take shots with my HMG and take out one Grunt. Ninja enters Camo again and moves to surprise shoot the grunt link and misses.

Round 2:

This is where the game went south on me. Cody managed to kill my HMG and my Ninja Combi and I was left with 3 troops. He secured one more Antenna.

I attempted to Panzerfaust his grunts in the face with Yuriko, but I rolled a 1 and was promptly stopped. I did manage to kill one more grunt though, but my turn was mostly over. By this point the game was over and it was a matter of how many victory points I was going to let Cody get. I might have had enough orders to get into the middle with my Weibing, but if I attempted to open the door that is was behind then I would not have been able to make it.

Round 3:

Cody managed to revive one Grunt and the other died. He also secured the middle objective with his dozer.

I began my turn in retreat and we called it a game.

The final score was 1-8.

Recap:

I need to stop trying to use Yojimbo like I do Mutts. This is hurting me more than doing any good. It also has been hard to get use to the lower BS and Wip of most of the JSA troops. Five man link teams will be very helpful to make Keisotsu more useful to me.

I think I’m going to try and take the LÙ DUĀN and a full link of Keisotsu. I am going to avoid Yojimbo for now and focus on learning the core guys. I may take a Domaru in my next game.

  1. Smoke is a good way to keep Yojimbo alive against Ariadna, since they don’t get MSV2. And don’t be afraid of cancelling Yojimbo’s Impetuous order to avoid mines.  If Yojimbo had survived, he could have disintegrated those Grunts with his Nanopulser.

    • I completely agree. I decided against canceling the order because of my small order pool, but in retrospect it would have been a much better idea. The koalas were left in a practically useless position after he died.

      • You are welcome, but no thanks needed. I saw your horn tooted on the official forum. We used to have an industrious guy who had every blogger on a big master list, but he left the scene because of some drama. I hadn’t seen another blogroll like it, so I made my own.

        Don’t play JSA myself, but I fight them all the time, so I know a trick or two. Bear in mind you do have to burn a short skill to “Stand By” the Koalas before Yojimbo dies, or they become inert.

  2. Yeah. I played against some koalas a few weeks ago and was able to shoot them down before they were active. The trooper was able to aro activate them, but I got both with a chain rifle before he was able to do anything. I love my mutts.
