Capture and Protect: JSA v Caledonia

The Oniwaban sped down the ladder wary of William Wallace watching from atop the building across the street. With no reactions from any adversary he was able to speed across the street towards the beacon in the middle of the road in the enemy deployment zone. At his next step Wallace discovered the Oniwaban. Finally revealed the Oniwaban decided to shoot his boarding shotgun. Wallace distracted by his attempts to discover the hidden trooper was caught by surprise.

The boarding shotgun raised to his left eye scoping in on the target. Two explosions of gunpowder erupted launching armor piercing slugs. They flew to the second story building where Wallace stood striking shoulder and chest. Wallace froze for a moment unaware of what happened. Blood flowed down dripping over his kilt and pooling at his feet. Their eyes met and both lieutenants nodded respectfully. Wallace fell in a heap on the ground.

Uxia MCneal watched her lieutenant die and waited for her moment to strike. She stood a pace from her own Beacon on the opposite side of the treacherous
Oniwaban. In one swift step she closed the gap and engaged him. Sword and dagger danced seeking openings. The Oniwaban swung twice, once for her side another directed at her abdomen. Uxia deftly guarded both strikes. The dagger and sword making a loud chinking sound as they struck and deflected blows. Uxia riposted the blows with her own strike at his throat. Shock passed over his eyes in themoment that he knew it was the end. He had been bested at his own game.

At the last minute I decided to change my strategy a little and use Yojimbo in stead of a Raiden Seibutai. Here’s a link to the previous post where I spoke about my plans with the Seibuati. I was able to kill a few troops with Yojimbo and his Krazy Koalas, but a the sacrifice of having to use my Keisotsu link defensively. Using them more agressively would have been a better option for a small game with limited troops.

Keisotsu Doctor Grabbing the objective

On a side note I think I fell in love with bikes. I chose Yojimbo because he looks awesome and Krazy Koalas. When I used his first order in the game and double checked his movement speed my jaw dropped. I had no idea that he had an 8-6 move. In my first turn he was nearly into the enemy deployment zone. On a whim I decided to buy the Asuka Kisaragi box.  I’ll assemble her soon and try her out in a couple of weeks.

In the end we tied for objective points, but I lost on victory points. He killed more of my troops. It was an interesting first try for the JSA. I fear I was playing them more similarly to how I play my Bahram with did not go over very well.
